Qualcomm is preparing powerful processors. This could be a revolution
Qualcomm will soon present a second, weaker variant of ARM systems for computers. We are talking about the Snapdragon X Plus model. However, we already know its specifications and performance.
The first laptops with Qualcomm's ARM systems will debut this year. The most powerful models are to be equipped with the Snapdragon X Elite processor, but in addition, the American company is also preparing a weaker X Plus unit. Although it has not been officially announced yet, we already know its specifications and performance.
Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus
Snapdragon X Plus will be equipped with 10 Oryon cores, which is 2 less than in the X Elite version. It will offer a maximum clock speed of 3.4 GHz and 42 MB cache. The performance of the Adreno graphics system is 3.8 TFLOPs, and the NPU unit (for AI-related calculations) will reach 45 TOPS, which is exactly the same as in the higher model.
When it comes to performance, Qualcomm's new systems have nothing to be ashamed of. In tests, they perform even better than Intel, AMD and Apple M3 processors. However, the differences between them in most cases range from 15-20%. The only difference is the multi-core Cinebench 2024 test, where the X Elite model is as much as 40 percent better. better than X Plus.
It seems that Qualcomm has prepared very competitive units that can easily compete with mobile processors from AMD, Intel and Apple.
