MPs from the Civic Coalition want to impose new obligations on employers. They have already submitted to the Parliament an amendment to the Labor Code, which will, among other things, require the disclosure of earnings in job advertisements. However, these are only some of the proposed changes, reports Rzeczpospolita.
Transparency of earnings in Poland
The proposal of MPs from the Civic Coalition will, first of all, require all employers to publish information on earnings in job offers. However, they do not have to be precise. The regulations provide for the possibility of publishing the so-called fork. The regulations provide for penalties for failure to provide such information or for a salary lower than advertised.
In addition, employees will gain information about their own individual remuneration level and the average remuneration levels of other peopleperforming the same work (or work of similar value). Information is to be presented by gender. Moreover, the employer will not be able to prohibit employees from disclosing their earnings.
According to the authors of the amendment, the provisions are intended to help primarily the two groups that are most discriminated against on the labor market, i.e. young people and women. The former have no experience and are unable to properly price their work. In turn, women still often earn less than men in the same positions.
