Millions of Poles use the application

The number of mIDs issued exceeded the 11 million mark. This is an increase of almost 30% compared to the previous year. Over the last 12 months, there have been 2.4 million new users of this digital document.

The application has become an everyday tool for a large part of society. Government statistics show 1.5 million logins every day. Deputy Minister of Digitization Dariusz Standerski announces further development of the project and work on the European identity portfolio.

11 million mCitizens is another success of the application, but also a commitment to further development. This result is the result of many years of consistent work of many people on the quality, security and usability of the application. We are working on further documents and functions, including the European digital identity portfolio, with which we will begin a new stage of the development of the digital state.

Not just an ID card

The second most frequently downloaded document in Poland is a digital driving license. 6.2 million drivers already have them active on their phones. The pensioner’s ID card and the Large Family Card are also very popular.

In 2025, the database of available documents increased by 16 new items. Teachers, tax advisors and bailiffs received their digital ID cards. New products include mObywatel Junior for students and a disabled person’s ID card, made available five months ago.

Important services for drivers

Last year saw the implementation of 20 new e-services. Drivers willingly use the mCrash function. It allows you to quickly write down a statement from the perpetrator of the collision without having to look for paper forms.

To date, this digital form has been used 10,000 times. Since October, a qualified signature has also been available in the application. It has the same legal force as a handwritten signature throughout the European Union. By the end of the year, 58,000 documents were signed using it.

Artificial intelligence in the office

The Ministry of Digital Affairs introduced a virtual assistant to the application. This is the first AI-based tool in this ecosystem. The chatbot uses the Polish language model PLLuM and answers questions regarding official matters.

Users can also manage physical documents more easily. The application allows you to apply for a new ID card for yourself or your child. It also allows you to quickly report the loss of your passport or invalidate a lost plastic ID.
