There are productions that are particularly close to the hearts of Poles. “Sami swoi. Beginning” is one of them. There is probably no film that Poles would not look forward to more. Out of sentiment for the old cult production.

Straight from the cinema screens, the continuation of the cult film has been added to Netflix’s November repertoire – “On our own. The beginning” and it became an instant hit. After the first day of broadcast, it is the most popular title on the streaming platform.
“On our own. The beginning” allows us to look at ourselves again in a distorting mirror and immerse ourselves in the world of the feuding Kargul and Pawlak families. The director of the continuation of the cult series is Artur Żmijewski, and the script is written by Andrzej Mularczyk.
“On our own. The beginning” – an explosive neighborhood
The action takes place in Podolia, a little earlier than the heroes moved to the Recovered Territories. It shows life in the countryside, where the relationships of the rural community are the most complicated. The film had its cinema premiere on February 16 and attracted over 800,000 viewers. The reviews may not have been very enthusiastic, but generally positive. It also premiered on Max before coming to Netflix. Meanwhile, the spectators here were just waiting for him. One day was enough for it to become the first most watched title in Poland.
The first series of the film “Sami swoi” premiered in 1967. There were two sequels: “Nie ma Mocych” (1974) and “Kochaj albo łości” (1976).
