Poles are glued to TV sets. Reason? Offer and… weather
How much TV do you watch?
In November, Poles spent an average of 4 hours and 5 minutes watching TV, which is 14 minutes more than in October, when the average was 3 hours and 51 minutes. There was also a year-on-year increase of one minute. There are several reasons for the increase, including poor weather, increased interest in fixed TV formats and a growing offer.
Any predictions about the decline of classic television can therefore be considered fantasy. Linear television is doing well, and interest in it may not only persist, but may even grow.
The most frequently watched titles were the FIFA World Cup qualifiers on TVP1, the series M jak Miłość on TVP2, the Fakty news program on TVN and Dancing with the Stars on Polsat – enumerates the website dedicated to the television industry. Interest in VoD also increased, and its share in the total TV screen space increased by 0.6 percentage points to 10.4%.
The latter is mainly driven by Netflix’s offer, whose share increased from 1.8% to 2.1%. However, the king of Polish VoD is always someone else – YouTube remained stable at 2.5% of total TV viewing in Poland.
