PlayStation 3, yes, is a console that is slowly approaching retro. However, for many people it is still the center of multimedia and film entertainment at home. And all because this equipment not only plays games, but also movies from Blu-Ray discs.

And although we are talking about a very niche group of people who use an old console as a movie player, it is also worth adding that the Netflix application on this device runs old movies in 4:3 format, which makes them look much better. It is also worth adding that the withdrawal of the application does not only affect the store, but is simply deactivated by Netflix. As we can read in the message displayed on the TV screen after starting the program on the console:

Unfortunately, Netflix will no longer be available on this device after March 2, 2026.

These same users have one last month left. Of course, as I already mentioned: it’s a really small niche. It is therefore not surprising that Netflix is ​​withdrawing support for this device. Users themselves will be able to use the platform on other devices.
