Phison potwierdza. Nadciągają bardzo wydajne SSD

Phison confirms. High-performance SSDs are coming

Next-generation SSD penetration has been slower than expected. Fortunately, progress is also being made with PCIe 4.0 x4 media.

Although there are already many available on the market SSD with interface PCI Express 5.0they are not very popular. They are more expensive, often do not fit in laptops and consoles, and are not supported by older computers. This is why manufacturers keep releasing new models PCI Express 4.0.

We are talking about a maximum performance of up to 7400 MB/s

During the event Future of Memory and Storage 2024which took place this week in the United States, Phison unveiled a new controller that aims to raise the bar even higher.

Phison E29T is a 4-channel controller with interface PCIe 4.0 x4 for DRAM-less semiconductor media. It was made in 12 nm lithography from TSMC and supports the bones 3D TLC NAND and 3D QLC NAND with a maximum capacity of up to 8 TB. It will fit both M.2 2230 and M.2 2280 SSDs.

Phison confirms. High-performance SSDs are coming

The declared efficiency is up to 7400 MB/s for reading and up to 6800 MB/s for sequential writing and up to 1,200,000 IOPS for random operations. Of course, everything will depend on the memory used.

The first SSDs equipped with the Phison E29T are expected to appear at the end of the year. These will mainly be flagship models in the offers of large manufacturers, and more importantly, they should be cheaper than in the case of PCIe 5.0 x4 media. It can also be done without an additional radiatorallowing for convenient installation in handhelds and laptops.
