Philips Hue on Samsung TVs also in the form of a subscription

Philips Hue expands cooperation with the Samsung SmartThimgs ecosystem. Soon, the Philips Hue Sync TV application, which can be installed on the Korean manufacturer's TVs, will also be available as a monthly subscription.

Monthly subscription and additional countries

App Philips Hue Sync TV will be available soon in subscription model with a monthly fee of PLN 12.99. Users will be able to choose between a one-time payment to unlock the app on one Samsung TVor opt for a monthly subscription that supports up to three Samsung TVs in the same household. The Sync TV application will be available in additional countries: Brazil, Hong Kong, PolandCzech Republic and Slovakia.

Integration with the SmartThings ecosystem

Philips Hue Sync TV is here to stay integrated with the SmarthThings ecosystem. Thanks to this, users of Samsung products will be able to control the application via your smartphone, along with other SmartThings-compatible devices. You will be able to change lighting settings without having to interrupt the content you are watching. In the SmartThings app, you'll be able to switch between different modes and start or stop syncing. It will be possible too creating automation multiple devices to create perfect conditions for watching a movie with one button.

Music mode

Philips Hue Sync TV app users on compatible 2024 Samsung TV models will soon benefit from a new feature – music mode. Instead of following the content on the screen, Philips Hue lamps will respond to the sound played on the TV. The music mode is designed to be compatible with any music, turning your living room into a private concert hall. Later this year, Music Mode will also be available on compatible Samsung TVs manufactured in 2022 and 2023.

Availability and compatibility

The Philips Hue Sync TV app is available for Samsung QLED TVs from the Q60 series or higher, manufactured from 2022. Philips Hue Sync TV app integration with the SmartThings app and monthly subscriptions will be available starting from spring 2024. Users will have access to these features after downloading or updating to the latest version of the Sync TV app. Music mode will be available for compatible 2024 Samsung TVs from launch. For compatible 2022 and 2023 Samsung TVs, it will be available later this year.
