Americans are expanding their offer of efficient and cool semiconductor media. Patriot also offers up to 5 years of warranty.
Even though standard PCI Express 5.0 entered household homes at the end of 2021, it seems that computer equipment manufacturers are only now starting to use it on a large scale. The greatest movement can be observed in the segment the most efficient semiconductor media.
Patriot Viper PV554 will offer performance up to 12.4 GB/s
American company Patriot Memory has just officially announced a new SSD. We’re talking about a model Viper PV553which we saw for the first time at the fair CES 2024 in Las Vegas.
Patriot Viper PV554 is a semiconductor medium in M.2 2280which uses the interface PCIe 5.0 x4 and protocol NVMe 2.0. It was decided to use a controller here Phison E26 and 232-layer bones 3D TLC NAND from Micron. The cooling system deserves attention, i.e finned radiator with fan.
The manufacturer’s declared efficiency is: up to 12,400 MB/s for reading and up to 11,800 MB/s for sequential writing and up to 1,400,000 IOPS for random reading and writing. It’s a lot, but it’s worth remembering the competition has already announced SSD with performance up to 14,500 MB/s.
Patriot Viper PV554 will be available for sale in three capacities – 1, 2 and 4 TB. Unfortunately, the manufacturer did not reveal the suggested prices. However, we are talking about a 5-year warranty limited by the TBW factor.
