The Masovian National Tax Administration, in cooperation with the Warsaw prosecutor’s office, intervened and thwarted this criminal practice. 28 people were charged and one was arrested. As part of the entire operation of the services, 589 illegal gaming machines were seized.
The high-profile campaign, carried out in Masovia, has been going on since March 2024. It was then that the services took a closer look at a group that was organizing illegal gambling games in the province. It turned out that the gang members were not only involved in gaming, but also at the same time they laundered dirty money. In one of the premises searched, the services found over one million zlotys in cash.

During the operation, 589 vending machines were secured and a warehouse that served as a logistics base for the organizers of the detected practice was closed down. The warehouse not only stored, but also repaired and installed illegal gaming devices.

Organizing gambling games without a permit is not a misdemeanor, but a crime. Under Polish law, there is a risk of doing so fine or imprisonment for up to 3 years. Owners of premises where illegal vending machines operate may also be charged a fine of PLN 100,000. zlotys from each device.
