OnePlus gives up the flagship. According to reports, it’s now for good
OnePlus may cancel several planned smartphone launches in 2026. According to information shared by Yogesh Brar, a recognized leaker from the mobile industry, the company primarily canceled the premiere of OnePlus Open 2, the successor to the foldable smartphone from 2023, which received high marks among users and reviewers.
Yogesh Brar published a laconic entry on the X platform, in which he stated that the premiere of the device had been canceled, but did not mention the reasons. It is worth recalling that OnePlus had already announced earlier, in February 2025, that it had suspended work on the second generation of the foldable.
The reason for making such a decision last year was the upcoming premiere of Oppo Find 5, a foldable model of the parent company-brand. Everything indicates that the situation is repeating itself this time – the premiere of Oppo Find N6 is approaching, which was also supposed to be the basis for the creation of OnePlus Open 2. However, Oppo has recently been trying to clearly separate its brands, moving away from a market strategy that caused very similar Oppo and OnePlus smartphones to compete with each other, fighting for the same user. The new approach also results in the transformation of Realme, previously an independent brand from the same capital group, into a sub-brand of Oppo, with less power.
Unfortunately, this is not the end, and OnePlus Open 2 is not the only device that may not see the light of day. Yogesh Brar estimated that there is a 90% probability of canceling the premiere of OnePlus 15s (which was to be called OnePlus 15T globally). Leaker added in the comments that the list of canceled projects is long and will be published soon.
The OnePlus Nord 6 series, which has already been launched in China as OnePlus Turbo 6, may also experience delays. The device was supposed to be launched in global markets in March, but according to the latest information, this date is currently uncertain.
For now, this is unofficial information from leaks. OnePlus has not yet released a statement regarding changes to its product strategy for 2026.
