NVIDIA is preparing new cores for GeForce RTX 40 cards
NVIDIA is preparing new cores for selected models of GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards. There are three designs: RTX 4060, RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4070.
The GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards have already shown everything they had to show. The last representatives of this line were the RTX 4080 Super, RTX 4070 Ti Super and RTX 4070 Super models. This does not mean that NVIDIA is not preparing smaller changes. Several other structures will receive new cores.
New RTX 40 graphics card cores
Three models of graphics cards are to receive new cores: GeForce RTX 4060, GeForce RTX 4060 Ti and GeForce RTX 4070. He provided this information on MEGAsizeGPU Twitter, which is a source of many rumors and usually his news turned out to be true, so we have no reason not to believe him.
- GeForce RTX 4070: AD104-251 (current) -> AD103-175-KX (new GPU)
- GeForce RTX 4060 Ti: AD106-351 (current) -> AD104-150-KX (new GPU)
- GeForce RTX 4060: AD107-400 (current) -> AD106-255 (new GPU)
Importantly, changing the graphics cores will not have any impact on the specification. All cards will have exactly the same number of CUDA cores as before. Nothing changes in this respect. The change is probably due to savings. NVIDIA wants to use more powerful cores, which have some drawbacks and are not suitable for more powerful models, but will be perfect for weaker designs.
Graphics cards with new cores are scheduled to hit stores this month. The first is to be the RTX 4070. In turn, the RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4060 will appear on store shelves in April.
