Nokia takes over another company
Nokia announced the acquisition of Infinera Corp for a whopping $2.3 billion. The move is expected to allow the company to expand its optical semiconductor network, particularly in the U.S. market.
Following the news of the deal, Infinera Corp’s stock prices jumped by 22%. No wonder. Nokia will pay $6.65 per share, more than 25% more than the current market value of the stock.
According to Reuters information, Nokia will pay 70% of the transaction amount in cash. Infinera shareholders will be able to get the remaining 30% in company shares.
