Noctua with new cooling. The price is astronomical though
After years of waiting, we finally get a new Noctua CPU cooler. The same one that was recently shown in Taiwan. The price is outrageous, though.
Noctua is a company that needs no introduction to any computer enthusiast. The Austrians offer one of the most efficient and quietest CPU coolers and fans on the market. The whole thing is complemented by high quality workmanship and exemplary customer support.
Noctua NH-D15 G2 starts at PLN 649
PC enthusiasts have been waiting for a long time new modelbecause the Austrian solutions were falling behind liquid cooling systems. Fortunately, a cooler is finally hitting the market Noctua NH-D15G2 and fans Noctua NF-A14x25r G2.
The Noctua NH-D15 G2 is a dual-tower, asymmetric CPU cooler with dimensions 168 x 150 x 152 millimeters and mass 1525 grams. Here we have an aluminum radiator and eight heat pipes. Both the base and the heat pipes are nickel-plated and are not afraid of liquid metal.

The new solution has been in production for several years, and as a result we have a number of improvements. The choices include: three versions with different bases – Standard, HBC and LBC. They have been adapted to various processors (Intel/AMD) with different IHS shapes (CPU deformation in LGA 1700 sockets).

What’s more, the radiators are slightly offset from the base so that do not interfere with graphics cards in the first PCIe x16 slot on the motherboard. This also completes Noctua SecuFIrm2+ mounting kit based on Torx screws, not classic screws. Newer and older processors are supported.

The new fans are Noctua NF-A14x25r G2 PWM, i.e. 140 mm units operating at a speed up to 1500 RPMwith efficiency up to 155.6 m3/h and declared work culture up to 24.8 dB(A).

When it comes to performance, Noctua NH-D15 G2 offers a 3°C to 4°C improvement in temperatures compared to the first generation. And how much will we have to pay for this? A lot. Suggested prices are as follows:
- Noctua NH-D15 G2 Cooler – 150 euros, or about 649 zlotys
- Noctua NH-D15 G2 LBC Cooler – 150 euros, or about 649 zlotys
- Noctua NH-D15 G2 HBC Cooler – 150 euros, or about 649 zlotys
- Noctua NF-A14x25r G2 PWM Fan – 40 euros, or about 175 zlotys
- Noctua NF-A14x25r G2 PWM Sx2-PP Fans (two-pack) – 80 euros, or about 345 zlotys
Thus, despite the company’s reputation, the validity of buying a new cooler is questionable. Not only are we entering the territory of water cooling, which is more efficient (and not at all more expensive – Arctic Liquid Freezer II/III), but for AiO opponents there are equally efficient and cheaper options on the market from companies like be quiet! Whether Thermalright. Not to mention that the “old” Noctua NH-D15 is still on sale for around 450 PLN.
