No more editing bikini photos. Grok announced a change of policy

Elon Musk’s AI-powered chatbot, Grok, has announced a policy change. The company wants to provide greater protection against sexual deepfakes, at least on the X platform. It has little choice but to act – California has already launched an investigation into the matter, and the UK is already threatening a ban.

No more editing photos of real people in bikinis

We have implemented technological measures to prevent your Grok account from editing photos of real people wearing skimpy clothing, such as bikinis. This restriction applies to all users, including those with paid subscriptions.

X Safety said in a statement.

The statement also assured that material depicting other sexually sensitive topics and unwanted nudity is taken very seriously. Another recent change has also been confirmed – creating and editing photos via your Grok account on X is now limited to subscribers only.

Blockades will fall

The X Safety account also added that it currently has the ability to geo-block “any users who would like to generate images of real people in bikinis, lingerie, and similar skimpy outfits via a Grok account.”

These actions are the result of a wave of criticism that fell on Grok at the beginning of this year. This happened after a lot of unwanted photos of celebrities and children, created by artificial intelligence and inspired by users, appeared on X.
