Rumors about Nintendo Switch 2 have been circulating for several months. Everything indicates that the console will go on sale this year. Market analyst Hiroshi Hayase from Omdia has a similar opinion.
Nintendo Switch 2
The analyst predicts that Switch 2 will debut in the second half of 2024. The console will be equipped with an 8-inch LCD screen. He bases his assumptions on reports from suppliers who will increase orders for this type of displays.
Nintendo hasn’t announced anything officially yet. However, according to rumors, the console was presented for the first time at Gamescom 2023. The show took place in a closed group. The Japanese reportedly showed, among others, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in 4K resolution and 60 frames per second.as well as a working Unreal Engine 5 demo called The Matrix Awakens.
Nintendo Switch 2 is to be based on the NVIDIA Tegra 239 system, which is to be a converted version of the T234. Thanks to this, the device will offer, among other things, support for the DLSS technique with Ray Recostruction. Interestingly, it is not intended to support frame generation. The console will also support HDR, but probably only when docked. When it comes to performance, Switch 2 is expected to have capabilities similar to Xbox Series S.
Players should also be prepared for a higher price not only for the device itself, but also for the games.
