Nintendo is already preparing the next Switch

Until recently Nintendo was considered one of the most closed companies in the gaming industry. Each leak was treated almost as an act of sabotage, and the Japanese sending lawyers against Internet users was commonplace. However, recent years have shown that this is the case the aura of mystery is clearly crumbling. You don’t have to look far for examples, because information about… Nintendo Switch 2 were circulating on the Internet long before the official premiere.

The Switch 2 Lite model seems most likely

And it looks like that the Japanese giant hasn’t learned anything. It was noticed on the Nintendo account management portal previously unused model code listed as “OSMIUM”. For comparison, the current Switch 2 functions in the company’s systems under the symbol “BEE”. However, this is just the beginning, because the website also contains graphics assigned to individual consoles. In the case of OSM code the server returns the correct imagenot an error as is the case with random or non-existent markings.

The graphics themselves do not provide grounds for making far-reaching theories, because they are identical to those used for the current model. But it’s hard not to connect the dots. Speculation about the possibility immediately arose in the community Nintendo Switch 2 Liteespecially in the context of recent statements by the company’s president. Shuntaro Furukawa he talked about the desire to reach younger users with the console.

I think I’ve discovered something interesting, but I have no idea what it implies: On Nintendo’s Account Portal, there’s an unused model code under the name “OSM”. (The Switch 2’s model code is BEE.) The portal has images for each Switch model, and requesting OSM returns an image of a Switch 2.

A potential cheaper version of the hardware sounds tempting, but the market situation can effectively cool down enthusiasm. RAM shortages and rising component prices are currently affecting the entire electronics industry. If the trend continues, there will be more it will be difficult to significantly reduce the price of the Lite variantbut even the basic Switch 2 model may become more expensive over time.
