The return of PS Plus is frustrating to say the least. We expected headlines to counter the arrival of Starfield on Game Pass Xbox and PC, but that’s not what’s going to happen.

With the arrival of Starfield On the Game Pass side, Sony had an interest in bringing out the big guns for its PS Plus – for its PlayStation 5 and 4 consoles – in order to win the media battle. Verdict: it’s a failure! The month of September for PS Plus Essential was quite disappointing with titles that either didn’t get good press or felt reheated.

Games offered in September 2023 on PS Plus

Here are the games offered in PlayStation Plus Essential in September 2023 and which will be available from September 5, 2023:

Saints Row (PS4, PS5)
Black Desert-Traveler Edition (PS4)
Generation Zero (PS5 and PS4)

While GTA 5 joined the Xbox Game Pass catalog very recently, Sony has also chosen to enter the mafia open world with the very latest Saints Row. But the least we can say is that we are not really in the same qualitative register as the Rockstar title. Indeed, critics and players have not been kind to this Saints Row new generation, a title considered very bland and technically not up to date. This arrival on the PS Plus will at least give it the opportunity to gain popularity, sales when it was released last year having been considered very disappointing.

Another title highlighted, the sempiternal Black Desert which we already find almost everywhere among subscription game services. The MMORPG still has its community and this edition has the merit of offering a good amount of content in addition to the original game. Note that this is only the PS4 version of the Pearl Abyss title, but it is ready for cross-platform play.

Finally, the last game of this back-to-school batch: Generation Zero. This is a shooter with stealth mechanics in which you wage guerrilla warfare against all kinds of robots. Everything is playable up to three in a universe inspired by the Cold War era… but in Sweden, yes, it’s precise.

These games should be available from from Tuesday September 5. Note that subscribers have until the same date to add the following games to their library before they are no longer downloadable :

PGA Tour 2K23 (PS5 and PS4)
Death’s Door (PS5 and PS4)
