New Apple AirPods Max 2 headphones. Better soundproofing and a new processor

The heart of the new Apple AirPods Max 2 headphones is now the H2 chip. It replaces the older processor and introduces new sound processing algorithms. The manufacturer declares an improvement in the effectiveness of active noise reduction (ANC). The system suppresses external noise up to 1.5 times better than in the previous model. Contact mode has also been improved. Ambient sounds now sound more natural.

The headphones are equipped with a new amplifier with a high dynamic range. It provides a cleaner sound while maintaining the existing sound profile. Users should feel the difference when listening to Spatial Audio content. Surround sound offers better instrument location. The bass is more accurate and the mids and highs sound natural.

The new headphones include support for the 24-bit and 48 kHz lossless audio format. However, this requires a wired connection. Users will find a suitable USB-C cable included in the package. This cable allows musicians to mix songs in Personalized Spatial Audio mode, taking into account head movements. Gamers will benefit from reduced audio lag. Game Mode is faster on iOS, macOS and iPadOS devices.

Apple AirPods Max 2 has received a number of intelligent functions. Adaptive Audio option analyzes the surroundings in real time. The system automatically adjusts the mute level and contact mode to the prevailing conditions. The software lowers the media volume and reduces background noise when the user starts talking to someone. Voice Isolation focuses on your voice during phone calls. It isolates speech and blocks outside sounds.

The Loud Sound Reduction function has also been introduced. It limits exposure to loud ambient noise. It does not distort the song being listened to. Personalized Volume learns the user’s habits over time and automatically adjusts the volume. Apple says that interactions with Siri have become more discreet. You can respond to the assistant’s messages by moving your head. A nod means consent and a shake means refusal.

Apple has made Live Translation available. The tool uses the Apple Intelligence system to translate live conversations. Creators can use headphones as a remote camera trigger. The Digital Crown button allows you to take a photo or control a video recording. The quality of the sound recorded by the microphones is intended to resemble studio conditions.

The device is made of recycled materials. The magnets are made entirely of recovered rare earth elements. The ear cups are made of recycled polyester. The circuit boards contain recovered gold and tin. The packaging of the headphones consists entirely of paper fibers.

Customers can order AirPods Max 2 from March 25, 2026. The headphones will hit stores early next month. Available colors are blue, purple, midnight (black), moonglow and orange. The Polish price of the device is PLN 2,499. Buyers of new hardware can get access to Apple Music for free for three months.
