New AMD processors not for Windows 10 users

The new AMD processors cannot be used on a computer with Windows 10. They only support the latest version of the system, i.e. Windows 11.

A few days ago, AMD presented a whole range of new processors. These include mobile systems from the Strix Point series. It turns out that they cannot be used on computers with Windows 10.

AMD Zen 5 only on Windows 11?

Rumors that new AMD processors will not support Windows 10 appeared several weeks ago, but so far we have not had any confirmation of this information. This appeared with the presentation of Strix Point systems, which are intended for laptops.

Information about supported systems appears on the official AMD website. The new Zen 5 processors from the Strix Point series only support Windows 11 and Ubuntu. On the one hand, this seems understandable, after all, they are equipped with an NPU (Neural Processing Unit) to support AI, and this will only appear in the latest version of Microsoft's system.

Moreover, it is difficult to imagine that laptop manufacturers would sell new models with software that will lose support next year. The problem only applies to models without the system, because they will need to install eleven.

However, remember that we are only talking about Zen 5 systems from the Strix Point series, i.e. for laptops. AMD Ryzen 9000 (Granite Ridge) desktop models will continue to be compatible with both Windows 10 and Windows 11.
