Musk’s next groundbreaking project is about to become a fact
Elon Musk has no shortage of money or imagination. This time he wants to convince us that he will introduce humanoid robots to the market next year. He dreams of mass production.
Time for humanoid robots
Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced that the electric car maker will begin producing and using humanoid robots. Plans for small-scale production are set to become a reality next year, with mass sales of the robots planned for 2026.
Tesla will have truly useful humanoid robots produced for its own internal needs next year, and hopefully they will go into mass production for other companies in 2026.

Tesla will have genuinely useful humanoid robots in low production for Tesla internal use next year and, hopefully, high production for other companies in 2026

The billionaire announced in a post on X that the robots will be used first by Tesla.
Recall that two years ago, the billionaire announced that a robot called Optimus would be ready for use in Tesla factories by the end of this year. He is not the only one working on such a venture. Other companies, such as Honda and Boston Dynamics, are also working on their own versions of humanoid robots.
The declaration came just one day before Tesla’s latest financial results were released. Shares of the electric car maker jumped 5% on the news.
Tesla intends to mass produce the robots, and each one will cost less than $20,000.
This all sounds great, but Musk is known for setting ambitious deadlines for his companies that they don’t always meet, including with his self-driving taxis, which were supposed to launch in 2020. Delays have also hit his promised robotaxi. But that doesn’t mean there won’t be any robots.
Elon Musk thinks very business-wise, because at a time of falling demand for electric vehicles, his activities focus on artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles and robotics.
