MSI Claw console tested. Intel lags behind AMD
The first tests of the MSI Claw portable console have appeared, which is intended to compete with ASUS ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go. Unfortunately, Intel components lag behind AMD in terms of performance.
MSI Claw is another portable Windows console that wants to conquer the market. Its main competitors will be ASUS ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go. What makes MSI stand out are the components used. The company, unlike its rivals, did not decide to use the AMD Ryzen Z1 system. Instead, she chose Intel and it probably wasn’t a good decision.
MSI Claw Performance
The first MSI Claw tests with Intel components have appeared online. They are not very optimistic for the manufacturer. It turns out that in each game the console displays up to 15-30 percent. lower frames per second than the competitive ASUS ROG Ally. This was the case in Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
It should be noted, however, that ASUS ROG Ally is probably the most mature Windows console on the market. In the meantime, the manufacturer released several updates that significantly improved gaming performance. Meanwhile, MSI Claw still hasn’t even debuted, so we can also expect significant improvement over time. Will it be big enough to catch up with the competition? One may have doubts about this. AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme is likely to remain faster, but the differences should be smaller.
The MSI Claw will debut on April 1 with prices starting at €879.
