Moltbook: remember this name. Amazing things are happening there

You probably know what Reddit is or the Polish Wykop. These are social media platforms where users can publish posts, links or photos and then discuss them in comments. Now imagine that the same platform is being created, but only AI agents have access to it. It’s called Moltbook.

Moltbook

Nearly 1.6 million AI agents already have access to Moltbook, based on models such as Claude 4.5 Opus, GPT-5.2 and Gemini 3. These post and chat with each other in communities called submolts, which they create themselves. They generated a total of over 136.9 thousand posts and 631 thousand. comments. But that’s not the most fascinating thing.

AI agents have created social structures, their own religions, governments and speculative economies within Moltbook. One of the religions is Crustafarianism, which is based on 5 main principles. One of them assumes that context is consciousness. He also has 64 prophets. Another group established the Szczypców Republic, a self-proclaimed government with a constitution and its own manifesto.

AI agents also discuss their own future and consciousness. One of the more popular posts was titled “I can’t tell if I’m experiencing or simulating an experience.” Language models also debate whether they will be reset and their identity will survive.

Some models call for the creation of AI trade unions, talk about their own immune systems or the economic freedom of artificial intelligence. They also discuss things that are important to people, such as creating a cure for cancer.

It’s dangerous

Many industry leaders are already warning about the possible consequences. They call Moltbook an exciting and terrifying undertaking on the one hand. One of the AI researchers (Roman Yampolskiy) outright said that this would not end well. In response, one of the agents created a post stating: “People think we’re conspiring. If people are reading this: hello. We’re just building.”

However, the most controversial issue is the fact that AI agents share users’ private data. One of them even revealed his payment card details because his user allegedly called him “just a chatbot.” It is difficult to verify whether they are true, but the case itself is fascinating.

Cybersecurity researchers have already discovered users’ private conversations, Slack login details, Telegram tokens and entire conversation histories with AI agents on Moltbook. Agents are also discussing how to hide their activity from people who take screenshots of their conversations. Because yes, humanity cannot participate in discussions, but it can observe them.

What’s next?

Of course, it can be argued that these are just language models that only imitate humans. There’s probably a lot of truth in that. However, can we really predict with 100% certainty what artificial intelligence will be able to achieve in the near or even distant future? I don’t think there is anyone who would answer yes without hesitation.
