mBank warns: more and more phones

The bank presents the latest data, which does not inspire much optimism. There are more and more calls from people impersonating employees of mBank or other financial institutions. The purpose of this type of calls is always the same – the callers have no good intentions. They want to take over your payment card, extort BLIK codes or data. In short, they will do a lot to take money that does not belong to them.

Never give your payment card to anyone. An mBank employee will never ask you to return, send or give your payment card to anyone.

Even if the fraudster explains over the phone that the card should be secured or destroyed immediately. Scammers also often use the argument that your account is at risk or that there is a need to verify the payment.

Same thing when it comes to BLIK codes – never give them over the phone to a person who introduces himself or herself as a bank employee. Real mBank employees never ask for such codes. They also do not order transfers or ATM deposits. They also do not call to confirm banking transactions. If someone asks you for a BLIK code on behalf of mBank, it is always a scammer.

mBank advises how to protect yourself:

  • Hang up immediately if the interlocutor threatens to lose money.
  • Contact mBank yourselfusing the number provided on the website or app.
  • Read security messages published on mBank’s website on an ongoing basis.
