The new solution will enable operators to seamlessly link existing ones charging station with payment terminals of various brands, without the need to undertake extensive integration activities. The new payment gateway will standardize the user experience and simplify transaction processing.

Mastercard and Last Mile Solutions thus support the popularization of electric vehicles throughout Europe, simplifying the process of paying for car charging.

We are very happy to cooperate with Last Mile Solutions. Spreading electromobility on a larger scale is the key to building a more sustainable world. Achieving this goal requires partnerships like this to make the transition as seamless as possible, not only for consumers but also for infrastructure operators

– says George Simon, Executive Vice President, Market Development Europe, Mastercard.

The solution will be rolled out across Europe early this year to enable charging station operators compliance with the EU AFIR regulation, which will enter into force in April 2024.
