Mass drone checks. They can also fly over your home
Tauron, a popular energy supplier, has begun a series of drone inspections of private properties. So if you notice a flying machine near your home, you may be being checked.
Tauron, a popular energy supplier started another round of inspections of photovoltaic installations on private properties. In fact, the company plans over 1,600 inspections of micro-installations. He will do it quickly and cleverly using dronesSo if you see a drone flying over your property, it’s quite likely to be an energy supplier device.
Why is Tauron sending drones?
The company wants to check micro-installations and detect any potential problems. The inspections themselves are unannounced, but the fact that drones are used is already connected with informing the client. So don’t worry – only after providing the appropriate information, the operator sends the machine and it starts the inspection flight.
Inspectors only appear among people who have not responded to letters sent by the company.
This year, the company introduced a new technology to control photovoltaic micro-installations, namely drones. The devices are used exclusively for photographic purposes, and the detection of control points is based on measurement data. (…) The drone flies over the roof of the property, photographing the micro-installation.
Thanks to this innovative technology, micro-installation control becomes more effective and safer. Power engineers no longer have to climb ladders or use lifts, which reduces the risk of accidents. Drones allow for precise documentation of the technical condition of the installation and quick detection of potential problems.

Such actions are absolutely justified, in accordance with the regulation of the Minister of Energy from 2016 and will be practiced. There is such a need, because the scale of detected irregularities is still quite large. According to the energy supplier, in over 3 thousand cases the power was exceeded and in over 13 thousand installations the company detected exceeded voltage. This year, the inspections will also cover energy storage facilities. There are about 6 thousand of them in the Tauron network.
