Major Internet failure in Play and UPC. Something strange is happening
The Play network informed us that all services should now work properly.
The main page of the Downdetector website currently looks disturbing. Users of several banks in Poland have problems with access to services. These include PKO BP, Pekao, ING, mBank, Millennium, Santander, Alior, BNP Paribas, Bank Pocztowy, but also, for example, BLIK.
In the editorial office, we checked whether we could log in to our accounts and several people actually hit a wall. Interestingly, the notification rate is also increasing for Allegro, the Play network and the SkyCash service. This may suggest a problem with some external provider, e.g. AWS (Amazon We Services) or Cloudflare.
We sent questions to several banks. We will update the text on an ongoing basis.
We learned from ING Bank Śląski that the problem does not occur with them. The fault probably lies with the Play/UPC network, which has a problem with the operation of its services.
PKO Bank Polski sent us a similar position.
All our systems, services, the iPKO website and the IKO mobile application work and have worked without any problems.
Santander Bank Polska also confirmed to us that the problem does not occur on their side.
The bank’s systems are working properly. The problems are related to one of the network operators and its customers are having difficulties logging in to the application and website.
The Play network confirmed to us that the problem was on their side:
We confirm that at this time there may be problems with the operation of banking applications and websites. We are verifying the cause and working intensively to restore the services. We apologize to customers for this inconvenience.
