We have already written about the fact that letters in traditional form are becoming a thing of the past. From January 2025, correspondence with public entities will be carried out in digital form. This is already certain, because the amendment to the act has been signed. Although the regulations provide for a transition period, the government still decided to summarize the upcoming changes. What’s worth knowing?
Letter boxes are going away
The Ministry of Digitization published an article summarizing the most important changes related to the introduction of e-Delivery from January 1, 2025. These will be mandatory for public entities and are intended to be a great convenience for Poles.
e-Delivery is the electronic equivalent of a registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt. Thanks to this service, public entities, citizens and companies can benefit from convenient and secure electronic deliveries. They are legally equivalent to traditional registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt.
– writes the Ministry of Digital Affairs.
According to the government, e-Delivery will bring many benefits. First of all, such digital correspondence is protected against changes in content. The sender and recipient are identified when sending and receiving the shipment, and each activity is confirmed with a qualified timestamp. In addition, they can reach both natural and legal persons, as well as public administration entities. Finally, they comply with European regulations (eIDAS).
Although e-Delivery will come into force from January 2025, the government assumes that the transition period may last until the end of next year. During this time, e-Delivery will be the preferred method of communication, ePUAP deliveries, as well as alternative methods, will also be equivalent.
