The world of single-board computers will never be the same again. Jack Lang, co-founder of the Raspberry Pi Foundation, died after a long illness.

Raspberry Pi is a device that every fan of new technologies probably recognizes by name. This single board computer (SBC) changed the lives of enthusiasts and industries alike. We get very universal equipment in a small format and at a low price. Perfect for learning, but also for IoT and other projects.

Jack Lang died at the age of 76

He is behind “Malinka”. Raspberry Pi Foundationthat have been created in 2009 to promote computer science learning. The foundation was founded by six people (Eben Upton, David Braben, Alan Mycroft, Pete Lomas, Jack Lang and Rob Mullins) in the UK. Unfortunately, one of them is no longer with us.

Emmanuel College in Cambridge reported on its website about Jacek Lang's death. The Briton died on April 23, 2024 at the age of 76 after a long-term illness. He was not only the co-founder of the Raspberry Pi Foundation, but also an entrepreneur and business angel.

Jack Lang has always been interested in computer science and how the human brain works. He graduated from, among others: studies in mechanical sciences, gave lectures at universities and was the president of the board of the Raspberry Pi foundation, but also the president of the organization's commercial arm, supervising the development of the beloved “Malinki”.

We mourn with family and friends. However, please note that Jacek Lang's legacy will remain with us for many years. Both in the form of the Raspberry Pi and its impact on the SBC market.
