It is today. ASUS will show the successor to the ROG Ally console

ASUS ROG Ally is one of the first portable Windows consoles to challenge the Steam Deck. Of course, we are talking about products from well-known and large companies, because there were many other offers on the market before. Although the device debuted only a year ago, today (May 9) we will learn about its successor, or at least that's what ASUS suggests.

ASUS announced that today at 9 p.m. Polish time there will be a presentation of the next console from the ROG Ally series. You will be able to watch the conference on YouTube at the link below. Although we don't know the details, we may have some suspicions about what exactly the Taiwanese brand is preparing.

Already in January, rumors appeared that ASUS was preparing a successor to ROG Ally. Now we know they were true. But what exactly will the company show? I'm afraid we can't count on a full refresh and a real new generation model. Previously, there was talk of a device with a new system from the AMD Strix Point family. The problem is that these haven't been officially announced yet, so it's hard to expect ASUS to do it before AMD.

So what can we count on? These are just my speculations, but first of all I would expect a slight refresh of the console. Perhaps, following the example of the Nintendo Switch, we will receive a version with an OLED screen, which would be a big improvement compared to its predecessor. The device will probably also receive a new, better cooling system. There is certainly room for improvement in terms of the built-in battery and operating time away from the charger.

Performance improvement cannot be ruled out, but unless the console actually gets a new APU, we can't count on anything spectacular. We'll find out everything today at 9 p.m.
