MacBook Pro repairs will be much cheaper
As reported by MacRumors, Apple has just informed its own Apple Stores and authorized services that from now on, in the event of speaker failure in MacBook Pro M4 in 14- and 16-inch models – it will be possible to replace these components individually. This will significantly reduce the cost of repairs.
Until now, all MacBook Pro models from 2016 and newer required replacing the entire front panel, which was extremely expensive and in fact, service centers replaced most of the casing.
This change should make replacing speakers much more affordable. It will also cover previous models with Apple chips, starting with the M1 and M1 Pro and M1 Pro Max.
At this time, it is unknown whether this change in the approach to speaker repairs by official/authorized service centers will extend to other MacBook models, including Air, in the future.
