Is this the end of these cars? Gen Z is going for something completely different
Are loud racing cars a thing of the past? The latest research suggests that there is something that turns young people on much more than the noise from the exhaust pipe or a spectacular spoiler. These choices may be a bit surprising, especially for more mature drivers, but they perfectly demonstrate general trends for the younger generation of people behind the wheel.
Until recently, an elegant car was associated either with an extremely richly equipped car “dripping with gold” or a vehicle straight out of the Need For Speed series. It turns out, however, that this second model, at least for Generation Z, turns out to be a total embarrassment that few people will choose.. So what should we see less of in the not-too-distant future?
What counts?
The era of heavily tuned cars is probably coming to an end. According to The Mirror, 82% of Generation Z drivers interviewed in the latest Motorway study on this matter indicate that fluffy cubes, bumper stickers and flashy headlights are a thing of the past. Younger drivers definitely reject neon signs or spoilers. 80% of these young drivers also indicated that the loud exhaust was unnecessary in their car.
In return, people from Generation Z are more likely to choose a camera in their car (almost 40%) or a phone holder (almost 30%). The issue of safety is also important – many young drivers also choose a spare tire or a repair kit in case of a flat tire. As Motorway specialists quoted by The Mirror point out, this may mean that investing in gadgets such as a spoiler or lowered suspension may ultimately reduce the value of the vehicles.
Others will also be important technological innovations that will be a convenience while driving – according to research commissioned by OnePoll.com, 51% of young drivers are expected to be interested in them. Among people who are satisfied with their car, a significant number of them appreciate primarily its reliability and efficient operation.
