The bad streak seems to be continuing for Intel. After the failure with the 13th and 14th generation Core systems, the not-so-good premiere of the new Core Ultra 200 systems came. The Arrow Lake series turned out to be disappointing in terms of performance, especially in games. Now the Blues want to fix it with a new microcode.

Intel will improve the performance of the Arrow Lake series

According to the latest rumors, Intel is preparing new microcode for Arrow Lake processors (Core Ultra 200). This one is to be marked as 0x114 and will soon be made available as a BIOS update for motherboards with the Z890 chipset. The main changes will concern gaming performance, which will be significantly improved.

Reports indicate that the microcode fix is expected to bring significant performance improvements, thanks to which the new Intel processors will perform similarly or better in games than their 14th generation predecessors. So far, in many productions, the Core i9-14900K turned out to be much faster than the newer Core Ultra 285K processor, and this is an unusual situation, to say the least.

The new microcode will certainly not make Intel Core Ultra 200 processors competitive with Ryzen 9000X3D. AMD Ryzen 9 9800X3D will still remain the undisputed king of gaming performance.
