Intel to be absorbed by Qualcomm? This is not a joke, this is the new reality
A veritable earthquake could occur in the semiconductor and processor field. The giant in this field, Qualcomm, which produces mobile chips, could take over another mega-market giant, Intel.
Intel in Serious Trouble, Qualcomm Wants to Save Them
The source of the reports of a potential takeover of Intel by Qualcomm is the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. Intel shares lost as much as 30 percent in August – Qualcomm sensed an opportunity and wants to save the “blue ones” by buying them out.
Recently, the company’s CEO Patrick Gelsinger announced that he intends to get Intel back on its feet and announced a partnership with Amazon, under which the “blue ones” will produce special chips for AWS data centers. In addition It is not known how this relates to Qualcomm’s offer, but the latter is allegedly unlikely to give up easily regarding Intel’s takeover attempts.
If Intel were to be absorbed by Qualcomm, it would be a real earthquake in the processor market. Qualcomm wants to enter this market in a very serious way, and by acquiring Intel, it would anchor itself in it very well.
Intel’s avalanche of troubles
Apart from financial problems, Intel also had serious problems with its flagship processors, froze its plan to build semiconductor factories in Poland and divided business branches within the company. The Blues also lost the chance to develop a new processor to power the PS6.
Intel’s current market value is $93.19 billion. Qualcomm is valued at $188.18 billion.
