Intel solves an important problem. It cost 4 zlotys

Home computer users have been waiting for this for almost three years. Intel has finally addressed the problem of bending processors.

The premiere of processors is expected around October 2024. Intel Arrow Lake-S for desktop computers and their dedicated motherboards. They will be equipped with chipsets from the series Intel 800 and the nest LGA1851. However, it looks like it will be available in two versions.

The new ILM will probably only be available on more expensive motherboards

People who follow the PC market closely are well aware that The Blues have had a problem with bending CPUs for three generationswhich increased temperatures. The first to experience this were the systems Intel Alder Lakeand all because of the extension of the PCB and the pressure generated by the socket. The Americans seemed to ignore the situation, and users saved themselves with pads and special assembly kits.

However, the latest rumors suggest that We will see two types of ILM on the new motherboards (metal processor clamp). Standard, as before and “RL-ILM” (Reducec Load ILM) with a different structure and offering lower temperatures. It supposedly eliminates processor flexing.

However, it is more expensive than the standard solution – it costs USD 1 (approx. PLN 4) per unit – and will be optional. It is up to the manufacturers to decide what their motherboards are equipped with.. Probably the cheapest Intel H810 and B860 models will stay with the old ILM, and the better mounting kit will go to the more expensive Z890 motherboards and higher positioned B860 versions.

It is worth emphasizing that the new ILM is compatible with existing cooling systems. The only exceptions may be coolers such as Noctua NH-D15G2which are available in a version with a profiled base adapted to curved processors. We can still mount them, but the performance will be worse.
