Intel is ending popular processors. They will soon be gone from stores
Intel is ending its popular Core series desktop processors. We are talking about the 13th generation models, also known as Raptor Lake.
Intel announced that it is ending the production and shipment of new 13th-generation Core processors later this year. We are talking about Raptor Lake systems in the box version, which are often used by gamers to build computers.
Intel ends Raptor Lake processors
We are talking about the Core i5-13600K/KF, Core i7-13700K/KF and Core i9-13900K/KF/KS systems. Niebieski informed that interested companies can place orders for them no later than May 24, 2024. The last copies will be shipped by June 28. After this time, boxed versions of the processors will no longer be available. For now, this does not apply to OEM units.
This means that in a few months, 13th generation Intel Core processors may disappear from stores. The Raptor Lake Refresh series (14th generation) did not introduce major changes in most cases, so they were still very popular among people who built new computers.
Intel's decision is even more surprising when you consider that the company hasn't done the same for its 12th-generation processors. These are still available and will probably be for a long time, also in a box version. So why do the Blues end with newer models and at the same time leave the older ones in the offer? We don't know, but it's probably about cannibalizing the sales of 14th generation systems.
