Intel Core i9-14900KS price confirmed. It won’t be cheap
The Intel Core i9-14900KS will not only be extremely efficient, but also very expensive and hot. One of the largest American sellers revealed the price.
Platform LGA 1700 debuted on the market at the end of 2021 along with processors Intel Alder Lake-S. In total, it includes three families of processors – Intel Core 12th, 13th and 14th generation. The last and most powerful model is expected to appear any moment now, and it has been long-awaited Intel Core i9-14900KS.
Intel Core i9-14900KS will be available in stores on March 14
The flagship of the series Intel Raptor Lake Refresh will offer 24 cores and 32 threads, in a configuration of 8 large, high-performance cores and 16 small, energy-saving cores. The new feature will be a record high clock speed of up to 6.2 GHz. All this at the declared level TDP at 150 W.
It looks like the Intel Core i9-14900KS is not only in the hands of selected reviewers and overclockers, but has also hit store shelves. One of the largest American chains – Micro Center – placed the processor on its website. The suggested price is $749 (approx. PLN 2,936 + VAT).
This is a big leap compared to the previous “Special Edition” series CPUs. They were not only cheaper, but also offered more cores than earlier generations. For the record:
- Intel Core i9-12900KS – $739; 16 cores and 24 threads; up to 5.5 GHz; released April 5, 2022;
- Intel Core i9-13900KS – $699; 24 cores and 32 threads; up to 6.0 GHz; released January 12, 2023;
- Intel Core i9-14900KS – $749; 24 cores and 32 threads; up to 6.2 GHz; premiere March 14, 2024;
Is the new Blue processor worth the price? It depends. It will be the most efficient model of this generation. However, high power consumption and high temperatures must be taken into account, which was already confirmed by the first tests. Therefore, it will be an offer addressed mainly to enthusiasts and fans of overclocking.
