Install mObywatel. The list of new products is impressive

Radosław Maćkiewicz, director of the Central IT Center, gave an interview to Puls Biznesu. In it, he revealed what new features will appear in the mObywatel application. Although some changes are delayed, work on the government application is in full swing.

What awaits mObywatela in the near future? The most important change is the introduction of the “Your Pension” service. Ultimately, it was supposed to be available from January 2026, but there was a delay. Currently, its launch is planned for the end of March. Thanks to the service, Poles will be able to check their retirement account, including payment history and projected pension.

In addition, there are plans to further develop the mObywatel Junior application, which has been available since September last year. Through it, students will have access to, among others, the government’s electronic journal. The pilot is scheduled to start this year and several dozen selected schools will take part. All of them will be able to use the solution in 2027.

mObywatel is also to be enriched with Google Pay and Apple Pay ePayments, the possibility of invalidating an ID card, the option of applying for a passport for a child or the possibility of reporting the birth of a child.

It is also worth recalling that in December 2026, mObywatel is to become compliant with the eIDAS 2.0 regulation. This means the introduction of a European identity wallet and the possibility of using e-ID also in other European Union countries, on an equal footing with a physical document. The application will also allow you to confirm your identity on the Internet.

Over the next year, the priority is, of course, the further development of mObywatel by adding further public services to the application. A big challenge is to build and make available mObywatel compliant with the eIDEAS regulation, which is expected to take place in December 2026.
