Fraudsters impersonate well-known investment companies

Recently, the Internet is full of attractive advertising bannerswhich lead to fake websites advertising investments in cryptocurrencies, gold, silver and other assets. Worst of all, some of them are branded with the names of real and legal investment companies.

After viewing such an advertisement, when you fill in the appropriate field in the form, an “investment advisor” will contact you. What is typical is that he will offer you to transfer a small amount at the beginning. The amount of the first deposit will be so small that we do not even associate it with risk.

What does online advertising look like?

The bank reminds that advertising of this type they often use the image of famous people: e.g. athleteswho speak only highly of the investment. Unfortunately, their statements are falsified using special programs.

If you leave your phone number on this type of website, an “advisor” will contact you and ask you to transfer the first amount at the beginning. A small transfer is usually less than PLN 1,000. Then it will send you a fake website with fictitious profits and convince you to install suspicious software.

Do not follow the instructions of a false advisor.

warns ING Bank Śląski.

And certainly don’t listen to him when he gives you these types of instructions:

  1. “To collect the money you earn, download the software I show you.”
  2. “First, you must pay tax to the office to prove your turnover.”
  3. “We will pay you the profit, but you must transfer the money first to verify your account.”
