PlayStation has new management. The two new CEOs will replace Jim Ryan.
Since 2019 PlayStation it developed under supervision Jim Ryan, acting president of the gaming branch Sony. However, at the end of 2023, he announced his plan to step down from office. Sony has just announced who will replace him.
PlayStation has new CEOs
It turns out that this will require not one, but two people. Specifically, they will be: Hermen Hulst and Hideaki Nishino. The first of them will officially take over the role CEO of SIE Studio Business Group, while the second one CEO of SIE Platform Business Group.
Hermen Hulst was previously the head of PlayStation Studios, which he joined straight from Guerrilla Games. As part of the advancement of his new role, he continues will supervise the development of PlayStation's own brands, such as, among others, Horizon or God of War.
Hideaki Nishino is responsible for development of PlayStation as a platform. We are talking about plans regarding the consoles themselves, but also cooperation with external studios and current operational activities, including: sales and marketing.
Personnel changes in positions responsible for all key decisions for the brand will certainly be felt also by players. We are supposed to find out how and what the new management's plans for PlayStation are in this month.
