Huawei with new, efficient equipment. Sanctions not working?

Huawei is a Chinese technology giant that is well-known in Poland for its smartphones, tablets, laptops and other electronics. Unfortunately, it has fallen out of favor with the US, mainly due to accusations of spying and ties to the Chinese government. As a result, it has been subject to numerous sanctions.

However, it seems that this does not prevent the Chinese from developing. Huawei is expanding its SSD offer. It is true that they have already offered server and consumer media, but in the latter case only third-party solutions were branded. Now time for original designs.

Huawei eKitStor Xtreme 200 are semiconductor media in M.2 2280that use the interface PCI Express 4.0 x4 and the protocol NVMe 2.0. These are constructions without DRAM. The manufacturer does not reveal the controller and memory used, but it is assumed that Chinese chips will be used.

The declared efficiency is up to 7400 MB/s for reading and up to 6700 MB/s for sequential writing and up to 1,100,000 IOPS for reading and up to 1,000,000 IOPS for random writing. The choices are four different capacity variants – 512 GB and 1, 2 and 4 TB. It is worth noting that the first one is slower than the others.

It is worth attention long warranty – 5 years, with a high data saving rate – 550, 1100, 2200 and 4400 TB respectively. The described media have already gone on sale in China, and their prices start at around PLN 339. At the moment, it is not known whether and when they will come to Europe.
