PlayStation 5 Pro offers higher performance than PlayStation 5 Slim. This translates into better image quality and greater fluidity, although mainly in productions that received the patch. How does performance compare to electricity demand?

This was checked by experts from the Digital Foundry channel who specialize in this type of tests. For the purposes of measurements, they used two games – Elden Ring and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The first of them did not receive an update, thanks to which it uses the full capabilities of PS5 Pro. This is different in the case of the adventures of Peter Parker and Miles Morales, where the patch used was released.
How did the tests go? Surprisingly, because both consoles consumed a comparable amount of power, around 200-240 W. At the same time, PlayStation 5 Pro offered a significant improvement in image quality and smoothness. This is probably due to the new SoC, which is manufactured using lower 4 nm lithography, which automatically translates into lower power consumption. At the same time, Digital Foundry editors noticed that the PS5 Slim consumed a surprising amount of energy.
People who are considering switching from a regular PlayStation 5 to the Pro version should not have any worries, at least in terms of the amount of electricity bills.
