Here are the specifications of the Nintendo Switch 2. Nothing is missing
The Nintendo Switch 2 specification will not be a big revolution. The main system has been practically ready for 2 years.
The premiere of Nintendo Switch 2 is fast approaching. If the recent rumors are true, the console will debut in the first quarter or even in the second half of 2025. What will it be like? The creator from the Moore’s Law is Dead channel has found out the probable specifications of the device. It doesn’t make much of an impression, but that’s not the biggest advantage of the Japanese devices.
Nintendo Switch 2 specifications
Information about the likely specifications of Nintendo Switch 2 was revealed by two independent sources from NVIDIA. Konsola is to use the Tegra T239 system, which was created at the end of 2022. It will be manufactured by Samsung using 8nm lithography. In addition, it is supposed to have several improvements taken from the Lovelace architecture.
To be honest, the Switch 2 is no longer on my radar – I’m now focused on finishing the Blackwell validation. The Switch 2 system is ready by the end of 2022. As far as I know, the Digital Foundry article about the T239 processor that leaked when we got hacked is an almost entirely correct summary of what is true about the chip in the Switch 2.
– revealed one of the sources.
The same informant revealed that Nintendo received several different proposals from NVIDIA, including one completely based on the Lovelace architecture, but they chose the Orion variant, which is supposed to be optimal in terms of cost. AMD was also supposed to join the fight for Nintendo Switch 2, but the Japanese chose the Greens.
If the information is true, Nintendo Switch 2 will offer a processor with 8 ARM A78C cores, an Ampere graphics chip with 1536 CUDA units and LPDDR5 memory on a 128-bit bus and a bandwidth of 102 GB/s. It is possible to use 8, 12 or even 16 GB.
The graphics are to gain several improvements from the Lovelace series, including support for AV1 and FDE, i.e. File Decompression Engine. The latter solution allows you to significantly shorten charging times. One of the earlier rumors was about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild demo running on Switch 2, which had practically zero loading times.
