He fooled a 30-year-old woman. Right from the start, he presented her with two options
Bank employee and money at risk
A man with an Eastern accent called the woman and introduced himself to her as bank employee. He informed that a loan had been taken out on her details in the amount of PLN 47,000. Moreover, it has already been paid in the city. The woman couldn’t believe it and firmly denied that such a thing had happened. However, the fraudster was not dissuaded and continued the story – he argued that one of the bank employees was involved in the fraud.
The caller presented two options
The alleged bank employee introduced the 30-year-old woman two scenarioshow this case might go further. The first one was to report the case to the police, which, however, meant a very long wait to recover the money. The second scenario involved quick actionbut according to strict instructions from the caller. It was a carefully developed plan that would allow for quick recovery of the entire amount of money lost and help catch the dishonest employee.
The woman chose the second option because she did not want to wait too long and went to a bank in Bielsko-Biała, where she took out a loan. Then, she withdrew the funds and deposited them into the bitcoin machine. All her actions were indicated by the interlocutor. The woman, following the instructions, gave the stranger PLN 94,000.
Only after she calmed down and her emotions subsided, did she realize that she had fallen victim to fraud.
“Hang up and hang up immediately.”
The police reminds that in general every phone call with information about a potential threat to savings or a loan is an attempt at fraud. In such a situation, there is only one good solution – hang up. Then, contact your bank yourself to clarify the entire situation.
