Perhaps not everyone remembers this today, but the craze for retro consoles did not start with the already iconic Anbernica RG35XX. The first was the Miyoo Mini, but a horse in a row to anyone who managed to buy it with the extremely limited supplies.

The creators of Miyoo Mini overcame the difficulties by releasing the Plus version with a 3.5-inch screen, because the original’s problem was supposed to be the deficit 2.5″ screen. Only, no one remembered Miyoo Mini anymore, when the easily available and cheaper anbernic was leading the way. In the meantime, there is a good opportunity to remind yourself about this device, and this is due to the promotion on AliExpress.

Is this a better choice than the RG35XX? Opinions will be divided. In the case of the first revisions of Anbernica, which had a 2100 mAh battery, there would be no doubts. However, this year’s revision already has a 3500 mAh cell, so in the overall calculation, the Miyoo Mini with its 3000 mAh loses out slightly.

The Miyoo Mini also has weaker components than the RG35XX. It is based on two Cortex-A7 cores, instead of four Cortex-A9, and has only 128 MB of RAM, while its rival has 256 MB (or 1 GB in the Plus version). Nevertheless, both designs are sufficient for emulating 16-bit platforms, and for 3D games from the 32-bit era, even if both lack analog sticks.

Miyoo Mini supporters claim that this device is better made than its rival. The display used in it is also supposed to be better, although by definition it is still IPS with a resolution of 640×480 pixels. You can read our review of the console HERE.
