Google explains that the changes are intended to allow search engine users to ask any questions, regardless of length and complexity, and get answers that can be both a quick shortcut and a starting point for an in-depth conversation. AI reviews will now appear more frequently on the results page, offering contextual responses generated by Gemini 3 without having to enter a separate mode.
Another new feature is tighter integration with AI Mode: from the AI Overview on your smartphone, you can switch to conversational mode with one tap, while maintaining the context of your current search. This is a useful convenience, because so far turning on the AI Mode generated new results and answers, often different from the AI Review.
Google emphasizes that in tests, users clearly preferred a situation in which the search engine naturally turns into a conversation and allows them to ask supplementary questions instead of repeating the entire query from scratch.
The changed search mechanism is to work globally on mobile devices, in regions where AI Review and AI Mode are available, i.e. also in Poland. Google explains that the introduced facility is another step towards a single, smooth search path: from a simple result, through an AI review, to a multi-threaded conversation with AI within the same session.
