Good news on electricity prices. What will the government do?
Electricity prices have skyrocketed in recent years, forcing the government to freeze them to avoid drastic increases. However, increasingly good news is coming from the market.
The drastic increase in electricity prices in 2022 forced the Polish government to intervene. This consisted of freezing prices so that Poles would not feel the increases in their own pockets. The program will last until the end of 2024 and we do not know yet what will happen next year. However, good news is coming from the market. Electricity prices in 2025
It looks like the energy crisis is slowly ending. Currently, wholesale electricity prices are only 20-30 percent higher than before the 2022 crisis. Meanwhile, at their worst, they were even 6 times higher. Therefore, according to experts, further price freezes have no sensible justification, especially in the difficult budget situation of our country.
There is currently no substantive justification for maintaining a general freeze on energy prices in 2025. The country’s budget situation is difficult, and at the same time we must take care of public investments in the development and defense sector. In addition, we have already left the period of very high inflation behind us, and wages are also rising. This makes the argument about the urgent need to protect purchasing power less important.

At the same time, Śniegocki argues that the government should maintain the energy voucher program, which would support the least affluent families. How will it actually be?
