GIGABYTE raises the bar. We are talking about a performance of 14.5 GB/s
Need a new SSD? Do you want the highest performance? It's worth the wait. A new proposal from the Taiwanese company GIGABYTE is coming to the market.
Both AMDWhat Intel has been supporting the standard for a long time PCI Express 5.0. This interface, as with each subsequent generation, offers twice the bandwidth. This is especially useful in the case of flagship graphics cards, but also semiconductor media.
GIGABYTE sells its SSD without a heatsink
One of the largest Taiwanese computer equipment manufacturers, the company GIGABYTE, decided to expand its SSD portfolio. This time as part of a gaming brand AORUS we will see the performance up to 14.5 GB/s. This will complement the existing portfolio, which included models offering “only” up to 10 and 12.4 GB/s.
GIGABYTE AORUS Gen5 14000 is a semiconductor medium in M.2 2280 type PCIe 5.0 x4which uses a controller Phison E26 and 232-layer bones 3D TLC NAND from Micron, and the whole thing is complemented by cache memory LPDDR4. There are three capacities to choose from – 1, 2 and 4 TB.

Declared performance, confirmed by the program CrystalDiskMarklooks like this:
- GIGABYTE AORUS Gen5 14000 (1TB) – up to 13,600 GB/s for reading and up to 10,200 MB/s for sequential writing;
- GIGABYTE AORUS Gen5 14000 (2TB) – up to 14,500 MB/s for reading and up to 12,700 MB/s for sequential writing;
- GIGABYTE AORUS Gen5 14000 (4TB) – up to 14,100 MB/s for reading and up to 12,600 MB/s for sequential writing;

The manufacturer did not reveal the suggested prices, but it won't be cheap – the weaker model costs money approx. PLN 829 for 1 TB. We know that we are talking about a 5-year warranty limited by the saved data ratio. GIGABYTE sells its SSD without heatsinkadvising to pair them with flagship motherboards already equipped with factory heat sinks.
