The latest information was provided by @kopite7kimi, who is the source of many similar pieces of information and is considered very reliable. He was the first to reveal that GeForce RTX 50 graphics cards will have higher power requirements than the previous generation, the RTX 40. Initially he did not provide specific numbers, but over time he let out some steam.
Specific numbers, based on rumors, are expected to be as follows:
- GeForce RTX 5090 – 600W (150W more than RTX 4090)
- GeForce RTX 5080 – 400W (80W more than RTX 4080)
- GeForce RTX 5070 – 220W (20W more than RTX 4070)
- GeForce RTX 5060 – 170W (55W more than RTX 4060)
However, we do not know whether @kopite7kimi is referring to the TDP or TGP values in his reports, because there is a difference. However, the values are so high that higher electricity bills are practically unavoidable. In the case of some, replacing the graphics card may also require buying a new power supply.
