Gdańsk gains hydrogen refueling station

Polsat Plus Group and ZE PAK Group have launched a publicly accessible hydrogen refueling station in Gdańsk. This is the first such station in the city and the third in Poland.

On Jabłoniowa Street in Gdansk put into service the first hydrogen refueling station in this city, which is also the third location of the NESO station in Polandafter Warsaw and Rybnik. This station serves both public transport and users of private hydrogen-powered vehicles. In Gdańsk, you can already see four new hydrogen buses NesoBusand ultimately the fleet is to expand to ten such vehicles.

I am bursting with pride that we have just opened another hydrogen refueling station, and in Pomerania, an area known for its best air quality. Gdańsk has joined the group of our hydrogen locations, which for many years has been taking care of sustainable development, green investments and improving the quality of life of its residents. I am glad that our Group is playing its part in this and can actively support the development of ecological transport in the city to make it even cleaner. Hydrogen is the ecological fuel of the future, completely emission-free and safe for people and the environment. Now, the residents of Gdańsk will be able to use such urban transport on a permanent basis, taking advantage of all its advantages.

– said Zygmunt Solorz, main shareholder of Polsat Plus Group and ZE PAK SA Group

The NESO station in Gdańsk is fully self-service. Refueling of a passenger car is ongoing about 3-4 minutes and allows you to pass about 650 km. In the case of buses, refueling takes a few minuteswhich provides coverage about 450 kmThe refueling process is very similar to that at traditional gas stations – the user removes the nozzle from the dispenser, inserts it into the vehicle, presses a button and begins filling the tank.

The NESO network of stations, built by the Polsat Plus Group and ZE PAK, is one of the most modern in Europe. They are equipped with 19 kW solar panelswhich supply energy to the station, and energy storage with a capacity of 60 kWh store its surplus. The name NESO comes from the acronym “I Don’t Emit Exhaust Gases, I Clean”which highlights the ecological nature of this initiative.

This is a historic moment for Gdańsk. On the one hand, today we are opening a publicly accessible hydrogen station, and on the other hand, we are presenting 4 new buses powered by green hydrogen. Over 2 years ago, we said that we do not want any more high-emission buses in our fleet, which is why we are consistently changing our bus fleet. We already have 21 electric buses, today the first 4 are joining, and by mid-September another 6 hydrogen-powered buses. The station that we are opening is also needed, and our buses will be refueled here.

Hydrogen – the fuel of the future

Green hydrogen is the fuel of the future that is completely emission-free. Hydrogen powered vehicles emit only water vaporwhich significantly contributes to improving air quality. NesoBusdesigned by Polish engineers in cooperation with partners from around the world, is an example of the most modern, ecological city bus. Equipped with Wi-Fi, 5G Internet access, USB ports for charging phones, a passenger information system and 360° monitoring, it is a modern solution for public transport.

The opening of a hydrogen refueling station in Gdańsk is an important step towards ecological transport and improving the quality of life of its residents. It shows the commitment of the city and the Polsat Plus Group to the development of green technologies.
